Successful participation
For the first time in a long while, students and staff from all of Saxony’s universities came together for the University Sports Festival. In glorious weather and under excellent conditions on the sports campus of the Faculty of Sports Science at the University of Leipzig, Saxony’s universities competed against one another in a total of nine sports for the title of Saxony University Champion. Our university was represented in the following competitions:
- 3x3 basketball
- Small-sided football
- Mixed volleyball
- Tennis
- Chess
- Campus Run
- Fun Challenge
In the mixed volleyball competition, the “Mittweida University of Applied Sciences I” team finished in 5th place – the university’s best result in a Saxon championship for a long time. Tim Käbisch, dodgeball coach, even led his team to third place in the Fun Challenge. His sister Raika came second in tennis, securing the runner-up title in the women’s singles.
Congratulations!
